LIAM 354 – Changes in Latitudes

Jimmy Buffett wrote: “Changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes, nothing remains quite the same.” Oh, how right he was. The only constant in life is change, and we all intuitively know this. Yet, change is something we offer the most resistance to and experience the most pain from when we resist it. Marriages often end because one partner goes through a personal growth that the other partner can’t understand or accept. Friendships end when someone gets a promotion, or starts making more money, or starts hanging out with people from a different social class. In this episode, I try to explain why this is so. Listen as I explain:

One Response to LIAM 354 – Changes in Latitudes

I just wanted to personally thank you for this episode and your most recent episodes in particular. I feel that the words you spoke in this podcast went directly into this deep part inside of me today. Hearing you speak about true love being an unselfish love really help reiterate some thoughts I had for myself. These days Ive been faced with many difficult decisions. I am nearing 30, single, childless, and transgender and I have always been a very ambitious person, always on some type of entrepreneurial persuit. But these days I find myself stuck, unhappy with my current life. I feel as if I’m meant to do more than just live to work (the plight of most of us, correct?). I recently read a book called “Learning to Love Yourself” by Gay Hendricks and I often think about the principles in that book along with your podcasts. I feel that these days, I am giving myself the courage to step out and listen to my heart. To love, to dream, to hope, things that I haven’t done in a while, to be frank. This message doesn’t have much direction, sorry! Anyways, just needed to express my gratitude. You have many a very direct impact on my life. I’ve been listening to your podcast for about a year now and your messages always come at the perfect times.
